We checked in very fast. Nobody helped us with our suitcases though, and it felt more like a Holiday Inn than an InterContinental. But check-in was fast, so it's okay.
The room was clean and the extra duvet we requested by email was already on the bed. That's a great test, because many hotels forget.
The AC only goes down to 20°C. The blackout curtains aren't really blackout. The shower switches from hot to cold every 5 seconds.
Checkout was fast with express checkout.
WiFi was 17 Mbps.
A functional hotel, not a fancy one.
We stayed in a Junior Suite. Check-in is very, very slow. We arrived at 4pm and there was no staff to help us with our suitcases, so I had to go inside and ask somebody. When the guy finally came he was confused and it became a chaos of suitcases everywhere.
Then he told us both check-in desks were busy. The staff were super slow helping other guests (fine of course), but they weren't really putting in an effort to check us in fast next. It took 20 minutes and complaining just to be able to check in. The check-in woman looked completely uninterested and talked off a script about the restaurants and opening times (typical chain stuff), when it was clear I wasn't interested and just wanted to get to our room fast.
I knew booking a chain hotel was a mistake, but there was not much choice in Kraków, as even most boutique hotels are now somehow part of a franchise chain.
I emailed them at 11am, 6 hours before checking in, with our room requests like an extra duvet and to confirm the AC is cold. They never replied, which is also typical for a chain hotel. They're understaffed and cost cut, and call themselves "Luxury Collection", but of course when hotels say "luxury" it's always the opposite of luxury.
After requesting the extra duvet and cold AC again, the duvet finally came and so did the AC mechanic. The AC was locked at 20°C minimum and he did not want to put it lower, funny because our AC at home goes down to 16°C. We kept asking and he reluctantly unlocked it to 19°C for us. But not 18°C! Why? Probably to save money. Marriott is heavily compromised by ESG/DEI etc, so it makes sense. To be fair, once we were in the room they did respond fast to requests: the bathroom heating was super hot, and a guy came quickly to fix it and turn it down.
The bed duvet is super thick and super hot, nice if the room was cold but it's not cold. The water pressure is low, so filling up the bathtub takes ages. The ceiling lights are very bright and annoyingly strong, those cold LED spots. At 9pm the room smells like a deep fryer: the AC pulls in deep fryer air from the restaurant kitchen into the room.
There was no shower cap and there aren't many amenities in the room, so you have to call for everything. Why is it called "Luxury Collection" if there are no amenities? The tea bags at the coffee station are the plastic pyramid kind, full of microplastics. And there are 2 big bottles of red wine in the room, which feels archaic. There is never any staff at the spa desk. The hotel also signs you out of the WiFi every day, so you have to log in again every 24 hours.
The gym: the AC isn't cold either. The sensor stays stuck at 21.2°C even when it's set to 19°C. There are about 8 cardio machines, but for strength training there's ONLY dumbbells (up to 25kg, which is very low) and kettlebells up to 12kg. No barbells, no power rack, so no real strength training. The dumbbell rack is broken with twisted metal. When I took a dumbbell off, the twisted metal made it fall on my hand, and the steel pierced my skin and made it bleed. Of course there was no staff at the gym/spa desk, so nobody could give me a bandage. Very bad. The gym has paper cups, and when you fill them with water the paper starts disintegrating and the water tastes like paper.
We also requested a room change, and nobody ever called us back about it.
One day the lobby smelled like toilet cleaner. And on day 3 a small, half-open bottle of wine showed up in our room that wasn't there before. We think the cleaner drank from it while busy restocking the room and then left it behind.
Modern and newly built with a great minimalist interior, but it has quite a few issues. Rooms are quite small. Nice free coffee and tea in the lobby.
The front desk often doesn't pick up the phone when it's busy, even though the staff seem to be doing nothing when you go down to the lobby.
AC is central and not powerful, it doesn't go lower than 20°C actual temperature. We called the front desk about the AC not getting cold and they said they'd send a mechanic to our room, who never came. After 3 days it finally got down to 19°C, but probably only because it got cold outside. On the 4th day the shower water wasn't hot anymore. But they fixed it very fast.
The gym was 23.6°C, way too hot to work out (the spa staff said 23.6°C is already the coldest it can go), and most of the time there was no staff at the spa/gym desk, very odd. The sauna is nice and clean and open late, till 10pm.
Internet is fast, 400 Mbps.
Even with some issues, I'd say PURO is probably the best hotel chain you can get in Poland.
Amazing service when you arrive by taxi: they open the door and take your bags. These days at hotels you're lucky if you get any help at all, so this was nice! Check-in was good (a bit slow) but good, and they offered us nice hibiscus tea and wet clean towels. It was my girlfriend's birthday and in the room was a cake waiting, a beautiful card and alcohol-free champagne. So good. Then we went for dinner and they brought us a beautiful happy birthday dessert too. They have a lot of attention to detail. The rooms are amazing, massive high ceilings because it used to be a king's palace where its guests stayed. Curtains are automatic. Aircon goes down to 16°C, very powerful AC. We requested for them to do that but maybe it's the default, not sure. Just excellent. Beautiful location on the water, and you're in the neighborhood of Bahçeşehir University, a private university for the upper middle class, so it's a nice mix of rich, clean and safe with student stuff like cheap food places. Also: room service is the fastest we've ever had at any hotel. We order coffee and it's there 10 minutes later.
Amazing apartment-style hotel (without a kitchen though). Beautifully minimalist interior with a living room, bedroom and bathroom. Nice pillows near the big glass windows so you can sit and look out over the city. AC was good and went down to 19°C. Measured CO2 levels were also great, meaning the air is constantly refreshed with outside air. Bathroom was good, although the shower wasn't powerful enough. The electric blinds in the bedroom go down, but there's a strong artificial light in the window outside of it that's on all night, and of course the sun comes in too, which isn't great when you're trying to sleep, and the blinds don't fully cover it. Check-in was great and the staff extremely friendly and helpful. WiFi was too slow and not usable, I think 2 Mbps. Still 9/10.
We booked the suite. We entered and it was very hot: the AC was set to 22°C and changing it doesn't do anything. We called and the guy said he'd "adjust the panel", whatever that means. Nothing changed.
The shower is IN the bath tub, very old fashioned. The check-in woman at 10pm was very unfriendly, kinda bitchy, but fast. Very uninterested.
After we asked again they did change the AC and brought a fan. They also brought a separate duvet fast, so the duvet litmus test passed.
6.5/10.
UPDATE: we got an email and a paper letter from the hotel saying they had investigated the AC in the entire hotel and found no issues. That is an absolute lie. The next day the room was still way too hot, probably 23°C, even after the front desk guy on the phone said he'd "adjust it on his panel".
So the real story is that the hotel has a centrally controlled AC where they set the temperature, and to save money they set it way too hot for sleeping. It doesn't matter what you set it to in the room, that display is void and does nothing, at least not below the minimum they set on their central AC.
Great friendly front desk staff. Super fast check-in, the key was already ready and the room already charged. We had a small room without AC, so we asked to change to a suite with AC and it was very easy. The suite with AC was very fancy (for Irish standards) with crazy multi color LED lights and a jacuzzi. The AC was extremely strong, it got down to 16°C and we were freezing in bed (a good problem to have). The blackout curtains were quite good.
Only bad things: the green LED light in the bathroom which is on 24/7 and quite strong, and the strong light of the telephone (which I disconnected). Also carpet isn't very practical in hallways with suitcases, but that's an Irish culture thing.
Staff was friendly when we called for an extra duvet, even after the cleaning staff had already left, so the duvet litmus test passed. It seems like the front desk is run by actual Irish uni students, which is great too.
8/10 just for being a very practical solid hotel. Not the most modern but well done.
Excellent experience. Fast check-in, good AC (goes down to a real 19°C), pretty good blackout. Very fresh food at breakfast, even a pancake machine, and a great fresh buffet with scrambled eggs and sunny side up eggs. Great coffee machine with great coffee. Staff is very friendly and nice, front desk staff very friendly also. Express checkout: just drop the card in, very fast. Just an all around great hotel. Simple and great.
AC broke in the middle of the night. The extra-duvet litmus test failed too: we asked for an extra duvet in advance, no duvet in the room, and when we called they brought just a duvet filling without a cover. Lack of attention to detail. Another day the shower just went on by itself at 6am and woke us up.
Breakfast was extremely chaotic, with a rude breakfast witch who wouldn't let us sit outside on the terrace, while inside was like a sauna, so hot even the staff were complaining. We were there with our grandma, so for her it was actually dangerously hot. I asked why they don't have AC, she said "we have, but too many people". OK, then install more AC? This is a $1000/night hotel. Also the shakshuka at breakfast didn't look like shakshuka at all, it was mostly caramelized onions and very tiny, very odd.
WiFi didn't work at check-in and only started working after emailing, behind an extremely annoying login portal with way too many steps. When it finally worked it was 32 Mbps.
The lobby is very cold with AC, but that's a scam because the rest of the hotel isn't: the elevators have no AC at all and are super hot, the gym AC was off and only half working after we flagged it, and the room AC realistically only gets down to 21°C.
When you order UberEats, like groceries or food, the hotel will just reject your order. They will not even take it and put it on a table inside for you to pick up, let alone bring it to your room. You have to go outside yourself, and the driver will tell you the hotel keeps rejecting deliveries. Insane for a $1000/night hotel.
Room cleaning on the other hand was very extensive, it took them about 2 hours to clean the room, vacuuming and everything. Interesting that they put so much effort into cleaning the room but not into the rest of the hotel.
At checkout the hotel manager came to us to apologize for all the issues, with a gift. The gift card said to enjoy this special olive oil, but we opened it and it was perfume. Even in the apology gift the details are missing.

Great arrival — a nice bellboy helped us with our luggage and check-in was very fast and efficient. Another bellboy was immediately ready to bring us up to the room. We arrived around 6pm on a Saturday, not a light time, but the hotel seemed well staffed.
The room was amazingly prepared and very cold air-conditioned (great!). All our requests were answered — extra duvet, ear plugs, eye mask, etc. that you can select on the website beforehand. The room was very clean and modern.
Only downside: the WiFi is a bit low for 2026 at just 11 Mbps — sometimes too slow to actually work from, though otherwise usable.
The gym is really big and diverse — one of the best, though the AC in there is a bit hot, around 22°C/72°F.
They were also very generous with late checkout — they gave us 16:30!
Very nice!!
Modern hotel with a very millennial, eccentric and quirky vibe. The room AC control goes down to 18°C but it never actually hits that — it barely reaches 21°C.
Best detail: every bed has separate blankets by default. We always sleep like that — it's much better for your sleep.
It's a minimalist hotel with few amenities, similar to Dutch hotels, but the staff is responsive — you call and they'll bring up anything you want, which is great.
The room we booked looked much bigger in the photos on the website than the one we actually got, which was a tiny room in the attic. We told the front desk the next day. Almost all the staff are Danish and outstanding — except one Indian front desk woman who was consistently unfriendly and unhelpful. She talked like an AI robot ("our rooms are designed to be...") and was useless. We ended up upgrading to a larger room for a higher price, which was spacious and great.
Like Dutch hotels, they won't clean your room unless you ask — a cost-saving measure presented as sustainability. The problem: even when we called at 9am to get the room cleaned, it still wasn't cleaned when we came back at 1pm. When I called, that same unfriendly front desk woman said "rooms that check out are cleaned first, then guest rooms after 3pm" — which means you can be stuck in a dirty room until at least 5pm. Not how it should be, especially at €700/night.
The gym is basic — dumbbells only go up to 10kg, very light. There are a few kettlebells, the heaviest 16kg, also light. The gym AC is set to 19°C but won't go below 22°C, so it feels like 25°C — too hot to work out, but we did it anyway.
The sauna is great — massive, and open until 10pm.
Overall a great hotel. What it needs: better front desk staff (that one person), more room types on the site so the tiny attic rooms get put in a lower room class, and more cleaning staff so you can actually come back to a clean room at 1pm, and AC that actually gets down to 18°C — in both the rooms and the gym.
The most disgusting perfume in the hallways I've ever smelled. The room style is kitsch and very gay. Which makes sense cause Giorgio Armani was gay too. So maybe the hotel is just too gay for me. The bathroom was great and the shower was strong and good.
AC is VERY bad — literally won't go lower than 23°C / 74°F, which makes it hard to sleep. Modern interior, very nice. Minimalist, not many amenities. Staff is nice. WiFi is fast.
We asked someone to fix the AC or reduce the temperature and they kept saying maintenance would come, but they didn't come in 3 days. Also the cleaner forgot to clean our room. When we asked again she finally came around 2pm, but then she wouldn't enter the room until we left (she said that's the rules). That's nice but we were busy doing stuff, and the cleaner never came earlier, so maybe make an exception? It's an odd hotel.
Every day you have to ask them to clean your room because by default they won't (they say for sustainability reasons but it's greenwashing bullshit).
Front desk staff is very nice but I think they can't do much to improve the hotel because it's so understaffed — we saw just one cleaner the whole time.
Every day we had to put 2 signs outside the door to get room cleaning: one regular "clean room" sign and an extra explicit sign saying we do NOT want to "help the environment" by skipping cleaning. And then when we came back at 2pm every day there was still no cleaning, so we had to email and call them to get the room cleaned at the end of the afternoon. Terrible.
We selected late checkout in the app and they still wanted us to check out at the normal time.
Service was terrific — every problem we had got fixed immediately, and there were a LOT of problems for a €2,500–€3,500/night hotel.
The list:
- Bathroom flooded within minutes of showering in our first room (115). Called, they fixed it.
- WiFi login wouldn't work with our room number + last name ("guest not found"), had to call for a special code.
- Restaurant chaos at Beef Bar: a host promised us "the best aperitif ever," then handed us food menus and never brought the aperitif. We ordered mocktails — one came with alcohol; the waitress apologized and swapped it.
- Asked for an extra duvet in the booking email — not in the room. Called, got it.
- AC stopped working. Called, mechanics came and fixed it.
- Breakfast: rude woman at front told us we had 3 minutes left for the buffet (fair, we were late) but didn't give us menus. Waiters were nice once they showed up. Coffee was very late.
- Breakfast buffet looks like a cheap all-in package-holiday resort — not a €3,000/night hotel.
- Came back from breakfast: room was cleaned but the bathroom was left a total mess.
- WiFi is 9.2 Mbps — ridiculously slow for 2026 standards. Global median is ~120 Mbps; this is ~12x slower.
Front desk said we'd been "upgraded" from garden view to sea view, but the new room was actually smaller, had no bathtub, and was next to a restaurant playing loud shitty music until midnight.
At 12:46 we got a fruit basket card addressed to "Mr Propper" — we're not Mr Propper 😂 — so they took it away again.
After all the problems, they upgraded us to a much larger suite (272) with fresh flowers. The new room was great — except for a strong urine smell on the rug (looked like a baby had pissed on it). We called, a big team came and removed the rug. Excellent recovery.
We booked a boat through the concierge — that was fun.
Overall: lots of quality issues for the price, but the staff's customer-service recovery was excellent. Everything got resolved fast.
Great boutique hotel in Rome, just across the river outside the tourist part which is great. Staff is half Italian and half Nepalese/Indian. Clean hotel, orderly. Only things we didn't like was there was a deep fryer smell in the room in evening, probably ducts connected to the restaurant kitchen. Also WiFi was very slow and at times unusably slow like in the evening. if they fix that it's great!
Food is stale. Both at breakfast and dinner the food served is stale. We asked, and the dessert was prepared in the morning (14 hours before!) and served at room temperature. The couvert bread served was stale. The breakfast bread and baguettes were I'd say 3 days old and impossible to chew. The orange juice was old and stale. Very odd experience. They market it as organic, fresh, farm food, but it's not. It's generally days-old food from the supermarket.
One of the best hotels I've ever stayed at. It's a boutique hotel so a bit smaller than the big ones, but the service is out of this world. The front desk people are very sweet and helpful. The restaurant is VERY good food, especially the steak, and the staff is super super friendly and accommodating. Breakfast is until 3pm (!). So good, because at every other hotel in the world it stops at 10:30 AM and you have to wake up early just to get food. The air conditioner in the room was clean and powerful. The area was silent. The television had everything like Netflix etc. Everything just worked. It's interesting: we've paid 5x more for luxury hotels here and they're 10x worse! Great value. Great place and I hope they open more Fierro hotels around the world.
9/10Dubai, United Arab Emirates🌡️ 16°C minMay 20240
Amazing. Beautiful rooms, great AC down to 16°C, and the gym is just amazingly modern. The entire hotel is fitness-minded: there's healthy food to buy, high protein etc. One of the best hotels I've ever stayed at.
Very very bad. It's a renovated Hilton property but the renovation is still ongoing. They don't tell you this when you book until a day before you arrive in an email (too late to cancel then!). You wake up with construction sounds non-stop. We had to cancel our booking and leave after one day because it was so loud. At 2pm the next day we told them we'd like to cancel and move to another IHG hotel due to construction. We asked for late checkout because we had a meeting at 4pm so had to come back to pack our stuff and move to the other IHG hotel. The lady at the front desk told us we could have late checkout, which was 2pm, but by then it was already 2pm, essentially kicking us out of the hotel immediately. Never had this treatment at any IHG hotel ever 😂 The room was derelict and seemed not finished with renovation. Previous guest garbage on the ground. There are badly painted walls and paint chips in the room. We stayed in 1826. The phones look like from 1985. It feels like they hastily wanted to open this hotel but it's not ready yet? We stay in other IHG hotels all the time, actually live in one, and they're all almost perfect. voco Orchard Singapore should NOT be called an IHG property.
Full of loud smoking Russians and French with loud Bluetooth speakers, even at the silent pool area. Staff is unresponsive on the chat app if you complain about it, or message anything else really. Rooms look rundown and tiny, power sockets fall out of the wall. The expensive $20 rooftop buffet BBQ consists of cold chicken skewers and pork. You can't call that a barbecue 😂 literally 2 bowls of meat. Insane. Food at Fresca is good though. We received an onsen voucher from the GM, then wanted to use it and were accused by the staff of stealing it from another guest because it wasn't on our room number, you can't make this up 😂 The buildings themselves and the pool area look gorgeous, especially the hanging plants. It's just ruined by the subpar quality of everything. It feels like the place was good when it opened and now it's in disarray. Except for the gym: this is simply the best gym any hotel has ever had in the entire world. 3 floors of top machines and barbells. Gym is 10/10. I wish the rest was as good. Their marketing is amazing, showing fit healthy people, but it's loud smoking Russians and French. I know it's hard to attract the people they market at but something is off here. I think it can be improved if new management takes over.
Scam place. Crazy, they charge $5 or 100,000 KIP for a soda water. The price in a hotel is $1 or 20,000 KIP. In a shop it's $0.10 or 2,000 KIP. Total ripoff.
It looks like Chernobyl. The ruins of a hotel after a zombie apocalypse. Everything looks 30 years old and hasn't been maintained. The hot/cold water keeps flipping from ice cold to boiling hot every 30 seconds. This place is in disrepair. We arrived by taxi and had to act like our own bellboy and put our own suitcases on the carrier because there was no staff to do it. Check-in took 30 minutes. Everything about this place is off. Avoid.
Everything about this hotel is broken.
- The A/C resets at 10AM and switches off, every day. The A/C temperature is always ice cold, the setting doesn't work in any room
- I booked with bath tub, got a room without bath tub
- Gym is tiny
- Front desk is understaffed, you always have to wait 15 minutes for any service
- Desk chair is too low, you sit like a kid at a dinner table
- Internet is SUPER slow, like <1 Mbps, unusable. And you pay EUR 100/night for that?
- I requested laundry pickup, but had to bring it to the front desk myself. Front desk said it'd be done in a day. After 2 days, they found the laundry sitting on their desk unwashed.
- I requested late checkout, but front desk said because this was not my first booking (I extended) I could not have late checkout. Meanwhile I spent 1500 EUR in this hotel for 2 weeks. Insane?
Stayed here for a few weeks. Amazing place. Beautiful architecture and gorgeous rooms. Staff is super nice and they kept giving me gifts. Location is a 10 min walk from Nimman or a 5 min bike ride, 2 alleys in so quite secluded (good) and silent. Fast WiFi. The front lobby is a cafe with coffee and food to do some laptopping. Really enjoyed my stay!
