Melia Phuket Mai Khao
Stayed here with my gf and baby and had a great time. Very quiet part of Phuket, with access to an excellent beach. Two large pools, nice villas and gardens. You can walk on the beach to the airport runway for plane spotting (yes, is nice).
Doubletree by Hilton Dubai M Square
This is mij go-to hotel in Dubai because it's close to many great Indian restaurants, and next to the metro system. Upgrades are frequent with Gold Status (to spacious suites) and the rooftop pool is great. Excellent breakfast buffet with Southern Asian options. Always reasonably priced.
Conrad Dubai
Would've given an 8/10 but they trimmed the tropical plants and trees around the pool from the original picture, so now it's less looking like Eden and more like the desert Dubai is in. Room is okay, bit dated, with carpet floors. Lounge is nice.
Alila Bangsar Kuala Lumpur
Nice hotel, connected to metro system. Stupid floor arrangement. Front desk is highest floor, you need to go up there, than again down to your room. Even more stupid when you arrive from metro: go down to main floor (lift no 1), go up to lobby (lift no 2), go down to room (lift no 3).
The Sukhothai Bangkok
This is the best hotel I've ever stayed in in Bangkok (from around 20 properties). The hotel gym is the biggest and cleanest I've ever seen. Very good location, breakfast options 10/10. Nice amenities in bathroom also.
Alila Manggis
Very nice but bit dated hotel. Excellent breakfast, good AC, very nice pool and ocean nearby but beach is rocky.
